Firm History
Peter Backes, the great-grandfather of Pierson Backes, began practicing law in Trenton, New Jersey in the 1880's. Since then, the Backes family has practiced law father-and-son in central New Jersey for four generations.
The late William Backes, Jr., and his son Pierson Backes began practicing law together in 1997. In 2007, Kevin Pollock became a member of the firm of-counsel. Deborah Gnatt became a member of the firm in 2018.
Focused in estate litigation and estate planning & probate, the firm is committed to the sophisticated practice of law in a small-firm environment.
